Meet the Author: Guest Interview with Ryan Blewett
It's time for Interview Captain Britt MacLeod to take us behind the scenes with the mind behind this week's guest piece, "Count". Let's break the ice with MSL guest, Ryan Blewett.
You think you’re funny, and we think you’re pretty rad too. Have you ever posted anything on social media that you thought was going to get a lot of attention and left you hanging like, “why doesn’t everyone think this is as cool and meaningful as I do?! IT’S COOL GUYS!”
I think I probably experienced this more when I was first starting to make videos and put them out online, which is I think when we're really looking for that exterior confirmation. At this point, I've sort of realized there's no legitimate validation on social media so if I'm posting something it's because I want to share it and am already happy with it, so the reception is only a bonus. I don't see much point to posting locations, statuses or anything like that, only things I've created.
What is the coolest impulse buy you’ve ever purchased?
Does gas and food count? A few months ago the girlfriend and I decided one morning to go camping at the Grand Canyon and drove overnight to do it, which was totally awesome.
Why do you want to go to China, and what would you hope to get out of the experience?
I've always sort of had a fixation on China/eastern culture. I think that that part of the world is fundamentally different from ours, so there's so much more to learn, see and do. The more you can get out of your comfort zone, the better.
